The Department of Paediatric Medicine at Saira Memorial Hospital is housed by highly qualified and competent Consultants backed by fully trained staff. A 24/7 Paediatric Emergency facility is available at the Hospital.
For immediate care of the new born babies a separate Well Baby Nursery is available. For critically ill children, requiring higher level of care and interventions, a high Dependency Unit (HDU) provides round the clock monitoring and management.
The Department also has recourse to a fully equipped state of the art Neo-natal ICU, with Neo-natal ventilators and highly trained and dedicated staff, and is one of the best critical care unit in Lahore for new born babies and infants. Special care is provided for extremely premature and low weight babies. For speedy recovery from Neo Natal jaundice most modern LED phototherapy units are available
Child Health Clinics at the Hospital deal with the whole spectrum of paediatric problems on an Outdoor basis. For under and mal-nourished children a Growth and Nutrition Clinic is fully functional and, subsequent to growth and development assessment, provides nutritional advice and assessment.
Vaccination services are provided at the Department according to prescribed international protocols. The Department also provides pain free circumcision procedures ensuring maximum comfort for the child.
